What if the changes required to drive systemic transformation can happen “in a millisecond, as the scales fall from our eyes”? Donella Meadows suggested this possibility when articulating her ideas about leverage points – places to intervene in a system. She also believed that “growth is the stupidest purpose invented by any culture, we’ve got to have limits” and “the goal of the system drives its behaviour”.
This first Monday Monthly of 2024 is inspired by one of our blogs which explores ideas that came to the author after he listened to a BBC “Great Lives” programme where Kate Raworth investigates the power and necessity of the work of Donella Meadows.
Before the session, we suggest you allow time to listen to the Great Lives programme, read the blog and reflect on some questions we share there and in the your confirmation of attendance email - an hour should do it!
We look forward to welcoming you, and whatever arises as we work together.
